“As a country we spent the last decade celebrating our diversity and our differences … We oughta use this as a bookend to celebrate, once again, our commonality as a people.”Vivek Ramaswamy on Tucker Carlson Tonight (5/6/20)
I’ve never heard of Vivek Ramaswamy before seeing him appear on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” yesterday. He is the CEO/Founder of Roivant Sciences and is working on the coronavirus task force in Ohio. His vision for the country needs to be heard.
Obviously people have their opinions of Fox News and what Tucker says and/or represents. I may not agree with everything he says and you don’t have to either. But one thing I always go back to is that if he is the top rated show on cable news, it probably means he’s saying something that resonates with a majority of the electorate in our country.
In totality Tucker has been broad in his virus coverage and has tried to balance the idea of protecting public health while maintaining the life flow of our economy. Recently he has taken a look at the potential snowball effect many government (local, state, and federal) policies may have on us – and our freedoms.
Regardless of your preconceived views of Tucker, please take 5 minutes to watch this clip.
He had Vivek on last night and I think this is the most succinct and profound outlook on the virus that has been said to date. We should take this moment to go towards a new, post-virus world that really accepts the diversity and challenges that so many people have championed and fought for in the last 20 years. This is a time where we can take our cultural differences and really bring them together to better serve the American people. New ideas and practices that arise from this virus will give us the tools we need to thrive in a global and interconnected world. Collaboration is the key and suppressing thoughts and ideas will only lead to widespread groupthink.
It’s on the young leaders of this country to come together to make a better America that can sustain a healthy and prosperous life for all. The American Dream is not dead, it’s just waiting to be awoken again.
Being American should be something that we are proud of and our freedom should never be taken for granted. Vivek wants us to channel our differences and use them as fuel to fight for what has allowed us to sustain the greatest country in the history of this planet. I couldn’t have said it any better myself.
Freedom will prevail, it always does.
