UFC pay-per-view is back. To be completely honest I haven’t had any time to really research these fights and I don’t know really anyone on this card. I only know Sugar Sean O’Malley and Amanda Nunes. They’re gonna kick ass though.
I couldn’t watch the fights last week either because I was traveling. I’m clearly slacking.
So this isn’t really a preview and more of an endorsement and appreciation that the UFC is a league that took bold action to get back to operating. Dana White has said that someone needs to be the leader that takes action and gets things on the road back to normal, and he has solidified himself as a top commissioner in sports by doing this.
Doesn’t this also just make it even more ridiculous that sports like golf and tennis aren’t being played right now? UFC has had people bleeding on each other for the last 3 weeks and we can’t figure out how to get the PGA or ATP back on schedule. Crazy.
Anyway, Sugar Sean O’Malley is an absolute stud. I think he’s the future of the Bantamweight division, especially as Cejudo is retired. He is 11-0 and will be the first fight of the main card. He’s very young and has a good reach. He’s a matchup problem and a bright spot for a division that seems to be wide open. I think he’ll win easy and introduce the world to the Sugar show.
In the middle fights I just hope for some KO’s and chaos. It’s all you can ask for.
Then for the main event you just can’t bet against Nunes. She is an animal. She beats the pulp out of people. The 2 division champ is in her prime and I don’t see her taking a loss on Saturday. In her last featherweight title fight she beat Cris Cyborg. That is who Felicia Spencer suffered her only career loss to.
Nunes is looking to become the first female to have title defenses in 2 weight classes simultaneously. Nunes is an overwhelming favorite in this match and I don’t see why she wouldn’t be.
Good luck to those betting on the fights, I’m sorry I don’t have much else to say.
